What is ERP? #ERPT01A

Hallo,

 I want to introduce my self before. My name Yan Widi Nugraha from Pancasila University. For the first task in ERP, I must explain what is mean of ERP and how ERP work in my company.

So, what is ERP?

Travis Aderegg said in 2002 that “ERP is a complete enterprise wide business software solution. The ERP system consists of software support modules, such as: marketing and sales, field service, product design and development, production and inventory control, procurement, distribution, industrial facilities management, process design and development, manufacturing, quality, human resources, finance and accounting, and information services”.

Daniel O’Leary,2004 “ERP systems are computer based systems designed to process an organization’s transactions and facilitate integrated and real-time planning, production, and customer response. In particular ERP systems will be assumed to have certain characteristics”.

Then the concluse of ERP is ERP was developed with the rationale the need for the process of integrating activities across functions within the company, in order to be more responsive to the needs. Inclusion of an application or software in the concept of ERP because of technological devices that can provide added value in the form of: the elimination of processes that do not need (process elimination), simplification of processes that complicated or long - winded (process simplification), and automating manual processes (process automation).

how about integrated erp in my workplace?

I work in PT integrated Healthcare indonesia as quality environment analyst. in my workplace, we use SAP to connect all departement, such as Manufacturing, Purchasing, Supply Chain, Warehouse, Quality.
